The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC), on January 22, 2026, issued the Draft Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (Grid Support Charges for Captive Generating Plants) Regulations, 2026.
The following has been stated, namely:-
• Saving of Inherent Powers of the Commission:- Nothing contained in these Regulations shall limit or otherwise affect the inherent powers of the Commission from adopting a procedure, which is at variance with any of the provisions of these Regulations, if the Commission, in view of special circumstances of the matter or class of matters and for the reasons to be recorded in writing, deems it necessary or expedient to depart from the procedure specified in these Regulations.
• Interested persons may furnish their valuable views/suggestions to the undersigned on the draft Regulation by February 23, 2026. After considering the views and suggestions from all the stakeholders, the Commission, in appropriate cases, may bring about modifications to the draft Regulation and finalise it for publication in the official Gazette.
